The Certificate of Vocational Education (CVE-12) has been introduced by the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations under the National Policy of Education 1986. Candidates who have completed the studies in Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) or its equivalent are eligible to undertake the studies leading to the Certificate of Vocational Education(CVE). Terms & Conditions of running this course are the same as ISC-12.

The students opting for studies under the Certificate of Vocational Education (CVE-12) shall take up a two year study and shall follow any one of the trade syllabi of Vocational training a as per aptitude and preference for a period of 2 years in a recognized institute affiliated to the Council. The syllabi are designed to provide basic theoretical knowledge adequately supported by practical training.

The American educational system comprises 12 grades of study over 12 calendar years of primary and secondary education before graduating and becoming eligible for college admission. After pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, there are five years in primary school (normally known as elementary school). After completing five grades, the student will enter junior high or middle school and then high school to get the high school diploma. The U.S. uses ordinal numbers (e.g., first grade) for identifying grades. Typical ages and grade groupings in public and private schools may be found through the U.S. Department of Education. Many different variations exist across the country.

Education in the United States is mainly provided by the public sector, with control and funding coming from three levels: federal, state, and local. Child education is compulsory. There are also a large number and wide variety of higher education institutions throughout the country that one can choose to attend, both public and private.
